Robin Thicke's career and marriage came crashing down, in part, because of this

In 2013 Robin was on top of the world. After spending over 20 years in the music industry he finally made it big with his song ‘Blurred Lines' which sold over 14.8 million copies worldwide and his relationship with his wife, Paula Patton, and their son appeared to be as strong as ever.

But with fame, your secrets are exposed, and people started seeing that his behaviour was inappropriate at times and when that picture was released it went viral. Women started accusing him of sexual harassment and he (along with Pharrell Williams) was sued for plagiarism for ‘Blurred Lines' and he was forced to pay $5.3 million, plus royalties, to the heirs of Marvin Gaye who wrote the song he plagiarised (‘Got to Give It Up'). That along with his behaviour was enough to “cancel” him.

Paula, who had been with him since 1993 divorced him after this, and he tried to get her back by releasing an album called ‘Paula' filled with songs professing his love for her and asking her to forgive him and it greatly underperformed.

In 2021, Emily Ratajkowski accused him of grabbing her breasts without consent on the set of ‘Blurred Lines' and that was the nail in his coffin. His career will probably never recover from this and it shows that if you live your life being an ass to others, your search for fame will be the end of you.
